Put on some comfy boots and warm clothes and join us for playful wanderings through the city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch on the evening of 13 December 2017. We will start at 7PM at the Hangop / Willem Twee.
Our second Playful Arts Sessions of this year will take you on a playful exploration through the city by night. We have invited three international artists / (game) designers to share their work with us.
First we will get lost in the city by following Drift Club rules: listen to a synchronized soundtrack, take turns leading each other and drift! Drifts have been organized all over the world, we are very excited to be able to bring Drift Club to you with original Drift Club founders Sebastian Quack (Berlin) and Thom Kiraly (Malmö)!
After experiencing the city by drifting, we explore the surroundings of Willem Twee Kunstruimte for some playful mapping led by artist Aïda Gómez (Madrid/Berlin). Maps of cities can be more than just a collection of buildings and streets or a way to navigate to a destination. Gómez invites the participants to take in the stories, smells, objects, people and sounds in particular streets of Den Bosch and rename the streets, creating a new map of the area that is much more personal and collaborative.
We end the playful & urban explorations at the Hangop at Willem Twee art venue where we will talk more about both experiences together with the artists, the audience and moderator Michiel van de Weerthof. Van de Weerthof is part of Soundtreks | Weerthof & Pagée creating podcasts, soundwalks, audio adventures and immersive & interactive, binaural sensory projects.
We’d like to thank Willem Twee kunstruimte and gemeente ‘s-Hertogenbosch for their support to make Playful Arts Sessions possible and bring amazing playful arts artists to the Netherlands for you to meet.
