Playful Arts Sessions 2016

Meet us for a vibrant day of adventurous art and play! The day is packed full with playful experiences, presentations by creative professionals, in depth conversation about current developments in playful arts, a masterclass on play and to conclude, a sweet musical performance. This makes Playful Arts Sessions a day to remember!

With the theme of Bodies at Play, expect immersive and innovative experiences in the form of installation art, performances and play. Our homebase for the day is the historical Willem II Fabriek in ’s-Hertogenbosch. Only a five minute walk away from Central Station. Come along and play with us on 3 June!

Sign up for this masterclass to discover what playfulness is; play and invent folks games, learn about play communities, learn about a few particularly playful video games, and find out how play and playfulness can have its effect on your creativity and your work.

Adriaan de Jongh, who will be giving this masterclass, is a game designer best known for experimental games like Bounden and Fingle, which move people out of the normal space of videogames by challenging players to dance, hold hands, and share physical interactions.

Playful Arts Sessions is an event of Playful Arts Festival, an initiative of Wave of Tomorrow and zo-ii. The festival curates at the intersection of visual art, performance art and playful design in order to encourage social interaction. Playful Arts Festival brings people together to explore the boundaries of what playful art can be and connects people by creating memorable and playful moments. In this way, the festival strives to bring more playfulness in people’s lives and make a positive difference.
